Dr. Hein Sprong Serves as the Senior Academic Consultant to One Health & Implementation Research

We warmly welcome the outstanding scholar, Dr. Hein Sprong, from the National Institute of Public Health and the Environment, Netherlands, to take on the role of Senior Academic Consultant to support the journal development.

Dr. Hein Sprong:

Dr. Hein Sprong works in the Centre for Infectious Disease Control (CIb), National Institute for Public Health and the Environment, the Netherlands since 2007. He serves as a member expert in Group “Preparedness and Response West-Nile Virus” (CIb), “Toolkit Ticks & Lyme” (CIb), Group “Tick-borne encephalitis” (CIb), WHO-taskforce on the R&D Blueprint Roadmaps for Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever (WHO) and is a member of advisory committee of the Centre Monitoring Vectors (nVWA). Dr. Hein Sprong specializes in the fate and functions of cell lipids, intercellular transport of lipid-modified proteins, molecular epidemiology of parasitic zoonoses, and pays close attention to the emergence of tick-borne diseases, eco-epidemiology of vector-borne pathogens. He is active in various projects and international academic conferences, such as VectorNet’s kick-off meeting (with ECDC/EFSA) in Stockholm 2019, the 16th International Conference on Lyme Borreliosis and other tick-borne diseases 2021 and serving as the President of 16th International Conference on Lyme Borreliosis and other Tick-borne diseases (ICLB) 2022.
